All About Crafting with Wooden Boxes and Blanks
Plain wooden boxes and shapes make a fantastic starting point for making your own storage solution, gift box or home decoration. Plain wooden boxes make ideal decoupage blanks or trinket boxes which can be decorated with your choice of acrylic hobby paints, decoupage / decopatch, mosaic and more.
The Craftmill range includes wooden treasure chests, oval and rectangular wooden boxes, square boxes and sets of craft boxes plus much more. Our small chipwood boxes are great for little items like wedding favours and jewellery. If you are serious about decorating wood, try our dedicated wooden box discount site for great bargains www.thewoodenboxmill.co.uk
If you are painting wooden items, try using our wood primer on the item first. This will seal the substrate and reduce soak in. It will ensure that the paints that you overcoat with have a high shine and colour intensity and you will use fewer coats. You can use acrylic hobby paints directly onto the wood to great effect.
For decoupage, try using paper napkins, or wrapping paper. You can stick the patterns on whole, or rip into tiny pieces to create a patchwork effect. PVA glue will seal the paper or use one of our special decoupage glues for a professional finish. Here is lots of inspiration made by Craftmill customers and you can see more on our facebook page
